Why do some wind speed sensors appear to read so low?
Average Wind Speed sensors do not transmit the instantaneous wind velocity but rather an average wind speed over a time period. They will show a value of "0" or "Down" when there is little or no wind for a 6-hour period. Return to Flood Control District
