PHOENIX (January 15, 2020) - The Maricopa County Air Quality Department’s Clean Air Make More mobile application has reached a milestone with more than 50,000 downloads (50,575 downloads as of Jan. 8, 2020).
Recognizing that many Maricopa County residents typically spend more time on their smartphones and tablets than any other device, the Air Quality Department developed the Clean Air Make More app to provide a resource that allows residents to easily access real-time information about the air they breathe. The free application provides Maricopa County residents with real-time air quality information, forecasts, restrictions, and the ability to report violations.
“The app is a great way to keep residents aware of the Valley’s air quality,” Maricopa County Air Quality Department Director Philip McNeely said. “It’s exciting to see that so many residents are taking action and responsibility to better understand air quality.”
The app was launched in September 2012 and was Maricopa County’s first mobile app.
The Clean Air Make More app features:
- Real-time air quality information and detailed air pollution statistics, including ozone, PM-10 and PM 2.5 levels
- Air quality index levels (good, moderate, unhealthy for sensitive groups, unhealthy, very unhealthy and hazardous) and definitions
- Real-time air quality updates on restrictions (wood burning, leaf blower use, off-road vehicle use)
- “Report a violation” option, similar to what is found on CleanAirMakeMore.com, where users can report an air quality violation or a smoking vehicle
- Additional ways to stay in touch with the Air Quality Department for news, tips and other ways to improve air quality: www.CleanAirMakeMore.com, Facebook, and Twitter
