The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be doing a pavement rehabilitation project in Sun Lakes beginning early April and will run through July 2022.
Pavement rehabilitation includes removing the old roadway surface (milling) and replacing it with new asphalt pavement (paving). During both the milling and paving processes, it will be necessary to close one side of the road at a time. The work may temporarily block access to driveways, but crews will be available to assist drivers as needed.
Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted three (3) days before the work starts on your road. Please do not park on the road until the signs are removed. Vehicles that have not been moved off the roadway will be towed to the Sun Lakes HOA #1 clubhouse parking lot.
Please watch for restricted lanes as you travel through the area, obey traffic control signs, and slow down in work zones.
Warning: The materials used during the paving process contain oils that will stick to vehicles, tires, driveways, shoes and clothing, and is not easily removed. Wait for crews to clear the work zone before driving or walking on the new pavement.
Work Hours - 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Monday-Friday (No work on holidays - Occasional weekend work may be required)
***Schedule is subject to change for reasons beyond MCDOT's control, including: weather, equipment failure, illness or other circumstances.***
