Maricopa County homeowners and renters living outside the city of Phoenix may be qualified to receive services from the Human Services Department’s Lead Safe Maricopa County program. This no-cost program aims to reduce childhood lead poisoning by creating lead-safe housing for the County’s most vulnerable families. Services available for eligible homeowners and renters will include lead-based paint home inspections and hazard reduction services.

How to Apply
To qualify for the Lead Safe program, a homeowner or renter must meet the following criteria:
Housing is in Maricopa County, but not in the city of Phoenix;
Housing was built before 1978;
Housing is a single-family home or an apartment complex with less than 15 units;
A child under the age of six (6) or a pregnant woman lives in the home ora child under the age of six (6) visits at least three hours a day on two (2) separate days a week; and
Household’s total income is at or below 80% Area Median Income.
