Health Impacts of Diesel Emissions

Diesel exhaust particulate matter is a toxic air contaminant. Diesel engines contribute to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) air quality problems. Children, whose lungs are still developing, and the elderly, who may have other serious health problems, are the most vulnerable to PM2.5 air pollution.
